The mission of the
Virtual Reality Technology Lab at Texas State University is to evaluate and comprehend the meaning and effect of interactions among people in immersive virtual reality simulations (IVRS). The lab offers a space where faculty may test new theories or current strategies in a safe and controlled environment. The use of VR technology can enhance the learning experience of students through providing exposure ‘of real phenomena’ that is free of the consequences the real world imposes. The lab offers a place where training of students may occur and new pedagogical techniques may be derived. Finally, the lab provides a platform for evaluating human behavior and cognition.
