Menos Statue
Menos, 1992 Located in the Halbouty/Engineering-Physics Bldgs. courtyard By Hans Van de Bovenkamp (b. 1938) stainless steel The result of the first ever nationwide sculpture commission competition at Texas A&M, this piece includes two basic elements: the ring and the wave. According to the artist, the ring embodies stability or centering, while the wave provides a sense of endlessness and flux. Menos is the Greek word for spirit.
