      1. Stephen C. Ash '87 Leadership Learning Center

Stephen C. Ash '87 found his way to Texas A&M University and the School of Business, after meeting with President Dr. Frank Vandiver on an exploratory trip during his senior year of high-school. Both of his parents were graduates of the University of Texas. Steve made the choice of Texas A&M University and earned a business degree in Finance. Steve made his mark professionally leading numerous management teams for some of Houston's most iconic landmark buildings and a commercial real estate portfolio with Transwestern totaling over 35 million square feet, over a 28 year career. Additionally, he has led the H.G. Ash Foundation. On behalf of the HG Ash Foundation, the focus has been on impacts in philanthropy in the areas of education, youth programming, healthcare services, as well as community programming. Texas A&M University has been the largest beneficiary. Following the lead of his uncle H. Grady Ash, Jr. '58, who gifted the lead donation for the second Corps of Cadets Leadership Learning Center, and twenty Endowed Corps 21 Scholarships, he has followed with commitments for an additional twenty Endowed Corps 21 Scholarships and the commitment for the fourth Corps of Cadets Leadership Learning Center. They have supported the Mays School of Business - High Honors undergraduate scholarships, as well as numerous Aggie athletic programs. "I am immensely proud of our ability to support the Corps of Cadets, and all that they stand for in upholding the traditions of Texas A&M University. It is a great honor for us. The Corps is making true leaders for the United States military, for the business world, for engineering and science, for their communities, and in life! They exude all that makes us proud to be an Aggie. Members of the Corps of Cadets are a great bet for the future as they choose the challenging path, enduring and flourishing as cadets, while earning a degree from the finest University in America." Steve's proudest achievement is marrying his wife, Renee S. Ash '92, and their three children. Renee earned an Accounting degree, as well as her CPA, and after working in public accounting, she enjoyed a career in commercial real estate. Steve is forever thankful for the opportunity and the decision to attend Texas A&M University. The friendships and network of support from Former Students has been and continues to be an overwhelming life blessing. Find out more about the Corps of Cadets or Corps housing.
