Nye Academic Center
Located on the second floor of the Bright Football Complex on the south end of Kyle Field near the Slocum Nutrition Center, the 24,550-square foot Alice and Erle Nye '59 Academic Center is the premier center of its kind in the country.The main focus of the Nye Academic Center is to help student-athletes develop consistent study patterns by providing them with supervised quiet study areas and academic support for all student-athletes. The center has many different resources to help each student-athlete reach his/her academic goals including: 23 Full-time staff members housed within the academic center. This includes a student-athlete engagement coordinator, a tutor coordinator, 11 scholastic supervisors, 4 learning specialists, 2 reading specialists, a director of student-athlete engagmenet and a student-athlete engagement coordinator. A part-time staff that includes 50+ learning assistants and over 100 subject specific tutors. 36 individual and group tutoring rooms, 18 Learning labs, 2 conference rooms and a 36-seat classroom. Subject labs for math & writing specific walk-in tutoring sessions 115 desktop computers for student use located throughout the building 15 laptops available for check out during study hall & team travel TI-84 Plus and TI-30 calculators available for check out each semester
