    1. Sherley Residence Hall

The newly renovated Sherley Hall is the first LEED certified residence hall at TCU, earning the LEED Silver Certification. Home to 314 residents, the hall boasts a diverse group of students. Sherley Hall is named in honor of Andrew Sherley, a member of the Board of Trustees from 1920-1945 and a member of the Brite College Board from 1921-1945. The Sherley family is "a large family, all of whom have been and are active friends and supporters of the school." T.E. Sherley was a member of the Board of Trustees from 1893-1917 and its president from 1899-1909. Lorraine Sherley was a teacher in the department of English from 1927-1971. She developed the department's well-known Interrelation of the Arts course and chaired the Creative Writing Committee. W.M. Sherley was also a long-time member of the Board of Trustees and served as chairman of its athletics committee during the planning and construction of Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Some 40 members of the Sherley family have attended TCU.
