Mehalso Observatory, a fourteen-foot Ash dome, features a Meade 16-inch telescope equipped with computer control and a CCD camera. A second dome houses a Meade 12-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.
The two domes are used for public viewing during the
School of Science's popular Open House Nights in Astronomy, and for undergraduate research by science students. The observatory was made possible by a gift from alumnus Dr. Robert Mehalso and his wife, Elizabeth.
