Human Resources Center (HR)
The WSU Human Resources Center, located between the CAC Theater and Rhatigan Student Center, houses the human resources and benefits functions of Wichita State University. The building was constructed in 1940 for the Civil Aeronautics Administration (the forerunner of the Federal Aviation Agency) to house its machine shop and hanger, along with several small classrooms. After the CAA was dissolved in 1958, the building was renovated and became the Industrial Arts Building, which held the workshops and facilities used by the College of Education's new Industrial Education program, later renamed the Department of Industrial Technology. When the Department of Industrial Technology was discontinued in 1995, the building was converted into office space for the Office of Human Resources, which relocated from Jardine Hall.
