        HISTORY
Located near WSU's Hughes Metropolitan Complex at 29th and Oliver, Wichita State University's Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) building houses the College of Health Professions' AEGD dental residency program and dental practice. The facility features state-of-the-art technology in a clinical space that supports training in all phases of general dentistry, including periodontics, operative/restorative dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, implantology, oral surgery, oral medicine, oral pathology, patient management, practice management, conscious sedation and risk management. The $6.6 million project was initiated in 2008 with a lead gift of $3 million from Delta Dental of Kansas and the Delta Dental of Kansas Foundation. The balance came from private donations. Ground was broken July 22, 2010, and the building had its grand opening on Oct. 24, 2011. The facility was designed by Howard + Helmer Architecture. Martin K. Eby Construction Co. Inc. was the general contractor.
