The Mushroom Research Center provides unique facilities for
Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology Department to conduct research on commercial and specialty mushrooms. Originally constructed in 1960 at the north edge of campus, a large addition was integrated into the existing facility in 1973 to provide more efficient and increased research capacity, and a new state-of-the-art composting facility was completed in 2016.
