DeLoach Hall is named for Dr. Will S. DeLoach, longtime chemistry faculty member whose expertise and reputation helped establish the department of chemistry. Dr. DeLoach arrived at Wilmington College in 1963 as the first doctoral-holding chemistry professor. Among his numerous academic achievements was recognition by the American Chemical Society in 1972. Dr. DeLoach provided extensive support to many areas of the chemistry program including the establishment of several endowments for this purpose.
