Current Usage:
- The laboratory building is used for autopsies of stranded mammals, marine-related research, and other usage to support the Department of Biology and Marine Biology.
- This building is heavily used in support of applied learning projects. Applied learning places students in authentic experiences. At the core of applied learning is the idea that students are applying theories, ideas and skills that they apply to real-world problems.
- Applied learning is the topic of the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a multi-million dollar, long-term, university-wide project intended to improve, enrich and enhance the student learning experience.

The laboratory, named in recognition of generous support from Mrs. Louise Oriole Burevitch, is used for autopsies of stranded mammals.
