Historical Info:
Originally called Lakeside Hall due to its location near the Commons lake, the building became known as Leutze Hall in a 2003 dedication ceremony.
Leutze Hall is named in honor of Chancellor Emeritus James R. Leutze, the fifth chancellor that the campus has had since its founding in 1947. During his 13-year tenure (1990-2003), Dr. Leutze's main focus was promoting academic excellence and ensuring that the buildings, landscaping and grounds of this almost 650-acre campus were planned for the safety and enjoyment of students, faculty, staff and visitors. Through his energy and talents, Dr. Leutze increased the regional, state and national visibility of the campus and its programs.
