Environmental Workshop: CCE 053
This workshop supports core civil engineering courses related to environmental engineering, capstone design, and independent student research projects. This workshop houses analytical instruments, pilot-scale testing facilities, and demonstration apparatus. Analytical instruments include a graphite furnace and flame atomic absorption spectrometer, an ion chromatograph, a total organic carbon/total nitrogen analyzer, and a UV/VIS spectrophotometer in addition to numerous benchtop and portable instruments. Large-scale demonstration apparatus include ion exchange systems, a sedimentation tank, a sand filter, Apparatus and instruments allow students to design systems and processes and analyze water and wastewater samples. Students conduct EPA compliant tests and laboratory-scale engineering investigations. Located in the Center for Communications and Engineering.
