Simulation Suite: MNH 454-459
The Simulation Suite a state of the art facility located on the fourth floor of the Quinnipiac University School of Nursing that provides a safe place for students to apply knowledge and practice clinical and communication skills within context. The laboratory is staffed by simulation experts and includes five high-fidelity acute-care setting simulation suites which house three adult mannequins, two infant mannequins, and one birthing mother mannequin. The mannequins have realistic features; for example, they have heart sounds, breath sounds, bowel sounds, and pulses. The rooms are outfitted with audiovisual equipment to allow simulation experiences to be recorded and reviewed during post-simulation debriefing or reflection. The use of high-fidelity simulation approximates what students may encounter in the clinical setting and by replicating essential aspects of a clinical situation, students are better prepared to understand and apply these skills when in the clinical setting. Students in the School of Nursing, School of Health Sciences and School of Medicine utilize this space.
