Tune in, Lions! Did you know the university houses a 100,000-watt NPR station? Founded in 1975, 88.9 KETR operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week in service to the Northeast Texas region from within Binnion Hall. With a four-person local news department, an in-house podcast creation and publication operation, and one of the most comprehensive Texas music libraries in the state, 88.9 KETR also serve as a valuable learning environment for students pursuing excellence in broadcasting.

The station, with its award-winning programming and personnel as well as its well-rounded website, http://ketr.org, is supported by Texas A&M University-Commerce, by a host of corporate supporters, and by its dedicated listeners.

As a mass media or journalism student, you'll have the opportunity to work hands-on with professional broadcast journalists, creating unique content for the air. If you take a stroll past the front entrance, you'll likely see the KETR van outside, and you can even catch a glimpse of the radio hosts through the window. But if you want the full VIP experience, call 903.886.5848 for a KETR tour.
