- Through energy savings, Facilities Management was able to build its first chilled water central plant with a thermal energy storage unit for the University.
- The new plant provides the necessary chilled water to cool 18 major buildings located in the core of the campus.
- The central plant reliably and efficiently produces chilled water, reduces noise pollution in each connected building, is projected to reduce electrical consumption by 18% and, by operating in off-peak hours, further reduces the campus' electric utility costs.
