Bombardier Learjet Practice Facility (BL)
The Bombardier Learjet Indoor Practice Facility is a climate-controlled, 29,000-square-foot practice facility primarily used by WSU's baseball and softball programs. The building, which sits adjacent to Eck Stadium/Tyler Field, was completed in December 2009 as Phase I of the athletic department's $5.5 million "Building Excellence for the Student Athlete" campaign. Wichita aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Learjet made a $1.2 million, multi-year contribution to secure naming rights. Designed by Schaefer Johnson Cox Frey Architecture of Wichita, the facility features a full-size infield with the same AstroTurf GameDay Grass artificial turf that covers Tyler Field, three pitchers mounds and retractable batting cages. The building was dedicated April 20, 2010.
