The Hosler Building, located at the intersection of Pollock and Burrowes roads, was built in 1950 and houses the
John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering. It contains the department’s faculty and administrative offices, research and instructional labs, a computer lab, and a large auditorium that is mainly used for classes.
The building also houses laboratory spaces associated with the
Energy and Environmental Sustainability Laboratories (EESL), one of the University’s shared user-facility labs. Originally named the Mineral Sciences Building, it was renamed in 1994 to honor Dr. Charles L. Hosler, Jr. who served as dean of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences from 1965 to 1985.
