George V. Luerssen, a 1915 graduate of Penn State, was a charter member and vice chair of the campus advisory board, vice president of Carpenter Technology, and an internationally recognized metallurgist. Constructed in 1972 as the first campus building, Luerssen recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation to create a modern, well equipped home for the science division. Bachelor programs in
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology,
Biology, and
Science are offered. An Associate degree in
Occupational Therapy as well as minors in Biology and Chemistry are also available. In addition to the many laboratories and faculty offices supporting the science programs, generally purpose classrooms, the
IT and
Police Department are located in Luerssen.
