El Proletariado de Aztlán (Working Class People of Aztlan)
Emigdio Vasquez' 1979 mural, El Proletariado de Aztlán, is located on a Chapman University-owned apartment building on 442 North Cypress Street in Orange. His mural depicts the history and progression of the Chicano community, from an Aztec warrior and farm laborers on the left, to workers on strike and zoot suiters on the right. In 2014, Chapman partnered with the Orange Barrio Historical Society and local artist Higgy Vasquez, Emigdio Vasquez' son, to restore the mural.
