    1. Abbe Center for Jewish Life

Located at 764 S. Main St., the Abbe Center for Jewish Life accommodates nine students in bedrooms equipped with full telephone, cable, and Internet access. The home's spacious dining room, living room, conference room and separate kosher-style and true kosher kitchens make it an ideal space for gatherings. It's located across the street from Temple Beth-El. The home was completed renovated in 2007, the result of a generous gift from Trustee Richard K. Abbe '92 and his wife Merav. At Abbe's request, a plaque in the entryway of the building commemorates the three Hobart alumni who died in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001: Andrew Golkin '93, Michael Simon '83 and Scott Rohner '01. Historically, the house, previously known as Folwell House, has served as a cooperative.
