    1. Memorial Chapel

As the visual anchor of the University Quad and the most recognized building on campus, Memorial Chapel has a long tradition of serving as a gathering space. It is the venue for the 70-year-old holiday tradition Feast of Lights and Redlands Symphony performances. In addition, the building has hosted guest lectures by prominent speakers including writer Maya Angelou, activist Gloria Steinem, biologist Jane Goodall, award-winning journalist James Fallows, former Vice President Al Gore, and former Secretary of State and Redlands alumnus Warren Christopher. While founded by American Baptists, the University is currently an independent, non-sectarian institution hosting diverse worship services.
