Biehl Commons
Biehl Commons is a major renovation of the old Thompson Union building, marking a return to the building’s former use as a student social space.
Thompson Union (1883; 1901; 1950), which originally housed the medical school, was partially destroyed by fire in 1950. The structure served as the student union until 1974. It housed the advancement and records offices for the Office of University Relations and the Sewanee Union Theatre until 2021.
