Chartered student organizations, schools, and departments are permitted to chalk cement sidewalks in the highlight zones between highly utilized campus and academic space to advertise events and initiatives. These chalking zones do not interfere with campus or emergency signage and respect private property boundaries.
Only washable chalks are permitted; the use of markers, paint, or chalk spray is prohibited. Chalking must be at least 20 feet back from any and all building entryways and never placed under any overhead obstruction/awning/covering or in stairwells. Chalking is permitted on outside ground surfaces only and never permitted in the Campanile area, on campus fountains, on buildings/vertical structures, and on brick or paver surfaces.
