      The Flowering Cherry (Prunus serrulata 'Kwanzan') is a species native to Japan, Korea and China. It is known for the cherry blossoms it grows in the spring that are used in many festivals. The tree can reach up to 12 meters in height and the double flowers are a beautiful pink. In 1912, Tokyo gave a Flowering Cherry Tree as a gift to the city of Washington, Pa.
