The Common Beech tree (Fagus sylvatica) is recognizable through its firmly lobed but finely cut leaves, which give it a delicate fern-like appearance. These lacy leaves turn gold in the fall. This Common Beech is the class tree of the Bryn Mawr Class of 1958.
