A nationally-recognized campus gem designed by famed architect O’Neil Ford, the Little Chapel-in-the-Woods is a non-denominational sanctuary for prayer, medication, information worship, recitals and weddings. Nestled near the TWU butterfly garden and Guinn and Stark halls, the chapel was constructed in 1938-39 by master artisans in Denton County. Upon completion in 1939, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt came to Denton to speak at its dedication.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the art in the Little Chapel In-the-Woods was created by 300 budding art students? Led by art professor Dorothy LaSelle, the chapel features parabolic arches, stained glass windows and a rich history for TWU students and alumni.
