Students at the Dow Science Center work with state-of-the-art equipment, some of which is rarely available to undergraduates at other schools. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 13 to 1, faculty enjoy directly engaging with students in research, allowing students hands-on learning opportunities in laboratories, a cell-and-tissue-culture facility and a greenhouse.
The biology and chemistry programs are two of K’s most distinguished and popular departments with many students starting journeys toward graduate school or careers in the health professions. The pre-med program — which is a pre-professional track, not a major — features a dedicated adviser who knows what medical schools look for in students. Our pre-law and 3-2 engineering programs work the same way.
