Stowe Tennis Stadium was constructed in 1946 and named after legendary tennis coach and Chemistry Professor Allen B. Stowe.
The stadium, with a capacity of 3,500, hosts the United States Tennis Association Boys 18 and 16 National Championships. The event draws 400 tennis players each August, rewarding several champions in singles and doubles with automatic bids to the main draw of the U.S. Open. Concessions stands at the championships serve blueberries and cream, a nationally known favorite treat for the players, coaches and families who attend.
