Weatherhead Residence Hall, named in honor of the late Albert J. Weatherhead III and his wife, Celia, an esteemed Newcomb graduate and member of the Board of Tulane, stands as one of Tulane's returning student communities.
Rooms are suite-style and can be made up of two double rooms, two single rooms, or a double and a single sharing one bathroom. There's a comfortable lounge, game area, vending, and networked laser printer on the first floor.
Additionally, Weatherhead is distinguished by its Faculty in Residence program, where a faculty member and their family reside within the community, fostering intellectual and social engagement among residents.
Designed by the renowned architecture firm Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Co in association with John C. Williams Architects, Weatherhead Hall opened its doors in August 2011. Its architectural excellence was recognized in 2012 when it received a merit award for architecture from the American Institute of Architects, New Orleans chapter, as well as the Best Architecture/Design Innovator award from Student Housing Business magazine. Weatherhead is a LEED Gold property.
The Weatherhead desk operates 24/7, providing assistance with key/access issues, security concerns, and general inquiries. Residents can contact the Weatherhead front desk at 504-865-4120 for support.
