Organization: American Museum of Natural HistoryProviding scientific, educational and management support for the protection of the largest global population of a critically endangered primate, the Grey-shanked Douc (
Pygathrix cinerea), in central Vietnam. Researchers worked to define and map the extent of the population, define priority conservation areas, train district rangers in monitoring techniques, and identify monitoring routes. These efforts also focused on disseminating results to regional protected area managers and community education groups who work to share information on primate conservation with local schools.
