         1. Increasing Protection for Grevy's Zebra

            Organization: Grevy's Zebra Trust
            
            Increasing security for Grevy's zebra in this region through a dedicated radio communications channel for Grevy's zebra to facilitate direct contact with the Kenya Wildlife Service; joint vehicle patrols; and employment of a full-time Program Coordinator to maximize program effectiveness.  The Grevy's Zebra Trust (GZT) was created to conserve Grevy's zebra across its range in collaboration with local communities. One of its main goals is the protection and monitoring of Grevy's zebra against illegal killing.   GZT successfully established the Grevy's Zebra Ambassador Program, which directly engages local communities in El Barta, northern Kenya.
