         Organization: African People & Wildlife Fund
         
         Working together with Maasai villages in Northern Tanzania. Reducing lion-livestock conflict by installing environmentally-friendly and culturally appropriate livestock enclosures called 'living walls.' The enclosures are lion resistant and combine chain link fencing with live trees as fence posts. Protecting lion habitat through the support of village game scout teams and enhancing local knowledge about lions through education efforts in a partnership with rural primary schools.
