Organization: Felidae Conservation Fund
Establishing the first comprehensive long-term conservation program focused on pumas in the San Francisco Bay Area. Addressing community concerns of increasing human-cougar conflict through educational outreach and scientific research. Data collected on puma movement, biology, ecology and behavior from collaring eight new pumas will be analyzed to develop conclusions about local puma populations. Easing tensions by building support for conservation initiatives as well as connecting people to nature using the latest technologies and engaging students at local schools to help them develop a deeper appreciation for local ecosystems.
