Organization: International Elephant Foundation
Restoring the balance of community protection, conservation and law enforcement in the Queen Elizabeth Conservation Area, Uganda to reduce poaching, bush meat trade and elephant crop raiding. Park-community relations are extremely bad due to the Kikarara community experiencing the highest levels of crop raiding in the area. Extreme crop raiding has resulted in complete disregard for wildlife and habitat conservation and the community of Kikarara is heavily involved in poaching and the bush meat trade.
