Founded in 1915, The
Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR) is distinctive for its dedication to fine teaching, individual attention, and high academic standards within a liberal arts tradition. Bryn Mawr awarded the first doctoral degree in social work in the United States in 1920. Today, the GSSWSR offers three degrees: MSS (Master of Social Science), MSS/MPH (Master of Public Health) Dual Degree, and Ph.D. Doctoral program in Social Work.
