Organization: Zoological Society of San Diego
Conducting research on the relevant food items for a novel population of Andean spectacled bears found in the tropical dry forests of northern Peru and formulating conservation strategies to protect their threatened habitat. Creating long-term education and outreach programs and increasing knowledge and appreciation for this unique and endangered environment across ten local communities. This is the first year this project has been funded by the DWCF.
