Securing the conservation of an estimated 8 million straw-colored fruit bats during their seasonal migration to Kasanka National Park in Zambia. Protecting their sensitive forest habitats through improved fire prevention and anti-poaching measures. Educating park visitors about the value and conservation needs of this species, and expanding appreciation for bats in local communities through educational campaigns and park visits. This is the first year this project has been funded by the DWCF.
