         Opening in Fall 2019, the newest addition to WCU's campus is named in recognition of Levern Hamlin Allen, the first African-American student to enroll at WCU and among the first to be admitted to any of North Carolina's all-white universities. This new residence hall will house a community of 600 diverse students pursuing their dreams, and it will bear the name of an ambitious alumna who helped open the door for the opportunities they enjoy today.
