Scotch pine has short needles in bunches of twos. The green or blue-green needles often take on a yellow cast during the winter. Upper portions of the tree display papery flakes of orange-colored bark. While Scotch pine has been used in many landscapes, trees on the SUU campus are not particularly robust nor attractive.
