        Maidenhair tree is a large, slow-growing shade tree with interesting leaves that are shaped like those of maidenhair fern. Young trees are often tall, slender and sparsely branched; the crown becomes broader as the tree ages The leaves turn a bright yellow in fall. The ginkgo is of ancient origin with plants preserved in fossil records. Most trees sold in nurseries are male selections, thus avoiding the malodorous fruits produces by female trees.
