Fittingly, Jack Colker's 76 Station has been nominated for landmark status by Angelinos & tourist alike. Designed by Gin Won & William Pereira & Associates, the futuristic structure was originally intended to be part of the Los Angeles International Airport, the curved modern structure that looks more like a spaceship ready to launch than a place to refuel was installed instead at the center of Beverly Hills. Its red, boomerang-shaped roof is hard to miss, located near Beverly Hills City Hall and across the street from the new Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of Beverly hills.
