Making cameo appearance in countless music videos and blockbuster movies, such as Get Shorty, Iron Man 2, The Golden Child, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, and Earth Girls Are Easy, Mars Attacks!, Into the Night, Stripped to Kill, Problem Child 2, Breathless, California Girls, Volcano, Escape from Petropolis, Love Letters, and the opening credits of Showtime's Californication. It appeared in more recent films like Dope and Entourage. The doughnut hole was punctured by a runaway car in 1980's. Even the space shuttle Endeavour, yes, the space shuttle made a pit stop outside of Randy's Donuts.
The iconic Randy's Donuts sign was turned into a red faucet knob by the Metropolitan Water Districts for a few weeks in 2015 to spread water-saving message. As part of the educational event, every person that pledges to conserve water between 7-9am received a complimentary donut.
