          The Vasquez Rocks Interpretive Center is LEED platinum 2,915 square feet certified building , includes a multi-purpose exhibit room, and accommodates educational and recreational activities. Because the new building itself is green, Los Angeles County Arts Commission selected artists Jenna Didier and Oliver Hess who are both committed to integrating green technology into their art work, accomplished through content which expresses principles of sustainability as well as the direct use of sustainable materials in the art work. Building ranks in the top 3% of projects in this rating system version. Why It's Green: 42.0% improvement on baseline building performance rating 12% onsite renewable energy 35% green power purchase 50% FSC-certified wood products 75% of occupied space has daylighting 90% of occupied space has quality views 50% reduction in potable landscape water use 20% reduction in baseline indoor water use
