Butler University Police Department (BUPD) shares concurrent jurisdiction with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) in the boundaries of Marion County. Police-patrol supervisors and police officers are appointed to BUPD under the statutes of the State of Indiana with full police powers and are available 24-hours-per-day.
BUPD also offers educational and awareness programs on crime prevention, emergency response and environmental safety to students, faculty and staff.
