Lovett College
At Rice, a residential college functions as an extended family. Undergraduates are randomly assigned to one of 11 residential colleges so that each college represents a cross-section of the university’s diversity.
It was in Lovett College that one of the college’s resident associates (and an avid home-brewer) taught Rice undergraduate Brock Wagner ’87 to brew beer. Wagner and another Rice graduate, Kevin Bartol '81, went on to co-found the Saint Arnold Brewing Company, today the oldest craft brewery in Texas.
