The five-story Libbie Moody Thompson Basic Science Building, located just east of and linked to the Medical Research Building, is named for prominent Galvestonian Libbie Moody Thompson, wife of former U.S. congressman Clark W. Thompson and daughter of Moody Foundation founders William L. Moody Jr. and Mrs. Libbie Rice Shearn Moody.
