Reclaimed water is the clean water produced from the advanced treatment of wastewater. Using reclaimed water frees up the community’s drinking water supply, lowering the risk of a water shortage during droughts. UNC Athletics uses reclaimed water and harvested rainwater to irrigate athletic fields.
