          With over 50 native plant species, Battle Grove Opens in New Window is a Bird-Friendly Habitat as certified by New Hope Audubon. Located on the FedEx Global Education Center green roof, the bee hive supports a community of hard-working honey bees that pollinate foliage all around campus. 

          Through the Carolina Beekeeping Club, Tar Heels are learning to care for hives and exploring the impact bees have on our environment and food systems. For solitary bees and other pollinators, a Pollinator Palace was installed to provide a place for them to shelter.
