This was the first building in the UNC system to earn LEED certification and to feature a semi-intensive green roof to reduce stormwater runoff. The CO2 sensors in the auditorium bring in more outside air when the auditorium is occupied. When unoccupied, the CO2 sensors reduce the amount of outside air that has to be heated, cooled, and dehumidified.
The Carrington Green Roof can be accessed from the 4th floor of the building. The door is located between rooms 4001 and 4003.
